Shepherds Ridge Bathroom Renovation
These clients wanted a fresh new look and feel to their bathroom. With functionality for aging in place, the zero-entry shower features a detailed tile layout that subtly ties in the geometry of the larger floor and wall tile. Successful design is grounded in visual alignments, human scaled objects, and a balance of contrasting textures and tones. A cool-toned reprieve, this space is anchored by custom designed light oak cabinetry, reminiscent of driftwood on a sandy beach. The design process involved frequent communication with the clients from concept through construction to ensure that their vision came to life.

Solid surface countertops transition seamlessly to solid surface sinks for easy cleanability.
Brushed nickel hardware throughout provides a soft cool-toned sheen to the custom oak vanity and medicine cabinet.

A generous shower area combines sleek design elements with future-proof accessibility; grab bars and a shower seat assist safe and comfortable routines.
A two-toned glossy porcelain tile design decorates the long wall of the shower. The same pattern carries onto the floor in non-slip matte tiles.
The horizontal solid surface ledge extends the full length of the shower, providing convenient bottle storage and a clean visual line.
Low-profile grab bars provide an elegant solution for safe shower access.

After the renovation:
The space is opened up. Recessed cove lighting along the rear wall provides a sense of expanse and visual warmth, resolving the cavernous feel that previously existed.

Before the renovation:
An awkward angled wall and medicine cabinet previously blocked the approach to the bathroom. Varied horizontal heights of counters and tile chopped up the space. The new design aimed to open the space up while simplifying horizontal alignments.
A previous color palette of bright aqua was fighting the beige tile throughout. The new design refines the color palette by making it decidedly cool-toned. This project honored the client's love of grey.
