Changing the golden wall colors to a regal mid-tone gray with violet undertones provided a contrasting complement to the varied yellow, red, and purple accents in the client's home.
A bold blue-violet turns up the intensity in the kitchen area. This client is a stage actress, has lived in several countries over the course of her life, and enjoys cooking ethnic foods for family and friends. The hue matches her vibrance and zest for life.

A mixture of dark wood, red stained furniture, and bold fabrics and artwork pop against the resolved depth of this complex rich grey.

After:
The space feels light and airy. Natural light floods in from the window at the end of the hall. Additional overhead lighting and storage under the stairs maximize visibility and tidiness. Slate floor tiles tie into existing flooring in the front foyer, achieving cohesion for this beautiful home.

Before:
An enclosed laundry area ate into the hallway width. The bathroom and utility were once grouped into one room at the end of the hall, which blocked access to the window and reduced the functionality of both uses. The small format quarry tiles on the floor made the space feel smaller and outdated.
